The Alex Story Foundation Board of Directors has been monitoring the information released by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the NC Division of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) and local/state officials including Atrium Health’s recent recommendations on community events supported by Atrium Foundation as it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic and its potential effect on our April 4  Swinging Away at Childhood Cancer. As our event is 3 weeks away, we feel it is in the best interest of our attendees, sponsors and our overall mission to cancel and reschedule our event.  We will plan to communicate a new date as soon as we have one confirmed.  To those who have registered and purchased tickets, you will be refunded in full.

As always, Alex Story Foundation is and will be committed to increasing awareness, providing medical care and comfort for childhood cancer patients here in the U.S. and worldwide.  To that end, we are monitoring how the COVID-19 pandemic may affect those children globally who are fighting cancer and will struggle even harder to get needed treatment and supplies as a result of shortages, overcrowded medical centers and travel impediments.  Now, more than ever these children will need organizations and people to step in and provide assistance.  Please consider a onetime donation at this time to help fund efforts to improve eventual outcomes for these children and their families.

Thank you for your loyal support of the Alex Story Foundation! If you have questions in the meantime, please email us at dkiser@alexstoryfoundation.org.
